Jeniang, Kedah, Malaysia.  Parkia speciosa Hassk. Fabaceae. CN: [Malay - Petai, Petai papan, Sator], Twisted cluster bean, Drumstick tree, Tree bean. Native to Thailand, Malesia (Indonesia, Malaysia); elsewhere cultivated. Tree up to ca. 35 m tall, sometimes bigger. Habitat - widespread distribution in lowland and hill forest to 900 m asl; often planted. Bitter seeds eaten raw or as an ingredient for special culinary. Also a potential phytomedicine.  Synonym(s): Inga pyriformis Jungh. Mimosa pedunculata Hunter Parkia biglobosa ("ensu auct., non (Jacq.") R.Br.
