Description
Flowers in my garden--as soon as you introduce it, it will spring up everywhere within a year or two. This is also one of the few native wildflowers in my area that seems to persist in suburban landscapes, if they are not over-cultivated. Here I finally learned to use the custom white balance setting on my camera. This was in a morning light, and the photos always come out too blue. (I can correct it in Photoshop, but it never seems to come out just right.) That's how they were this morning, and then I remembered the military mantra, RTFM, which I did. I photographed a gray card in the same light, set the custom white balance, and then took this shot. This is pretty close to the natural purplish-blue of the flowers--very hard to capture. Oh, that was so easy, I will do it all the time now.  PCCA20080614-2804A
