Description
Costus ricus was quite common along a trail leading south from Cerro Nara, overlooking the Rio Savegre. As shown in these photos, the bracts and flowers are puberulous. Some of the plants had somewhat pendent bract appendages while others were the more normal horizontal form. All had the unique bicarinate bracteole this species is known for.
