Description
Costus ricus is documented as endemic to the Osa Peninsula region of Costa Rica. Found here and at Cerro Nara, it is more widespread than commonly believed. It can be identified by the shape of the bracts and bracts appendages as well as by the unique bicarinate (two-keeled) bracteole, as shown in these photos.
