Description
Japanese white-eye or Mejiro (Zosterops japonicus); alien. Pāpala kēpau (Pisonia brunoniana); indigenous Waimea Valley Audubon Center (now Waimea Valley), Oʻahu, Hawaii  "A bird in the hand..."  No worries, I was very gently with the tiny creature. With some TLC and a little Ivory liquid soap, the mejiro survived.  See another species of pāpala kēpau at: nativeplants.hawaii.edu/plant/view/Pisonia_umbellifera
