Tronco / Trunk: Cilíndrico, café claro a gris, sin gambas, exfoliando en placas evidentes. / Cylindrical, pale brown to grayish, without buttresses, exfoliating in evident sheets.

Diagnóstico / Diagnostic: Se distingue fácil por su tronco exfoliante. En caso de duda las hojas opuestas también son muy características. The exfoliating trunk is diagnostic. In case of doubt the  shape of the opposite leaves also helps to ID the tree.
