Tronco/Trunk: Grisáceo a blanco, cilíndrico, exfoliante, en ocasiones levemente acanalado, las gambas desarrolladas. / Grayish-whitish, cylindrical, exfoliating, sometimes the trunk a little bit corrugated, buttresses well develop.

Diagnostico/Diagnóstico: El tronco no es diagnóstico, pero pocas especies alcanzan un tamaño tan alto y tienen este tipo de gambas. Se confirma al ver las estipelas en las hojas. / The trunk is not really diagnostic but helps to ID this rare species. There are very few species with this kind of trunk. Identification is confirmed by finding the stipels at the leaf base.
