Distribucion en Costa Rica: Cordillera de Guanacaste y Tilarán, Parque Nacional Braulio Carrillo (Río Sucio), Fila Bustamante, Fila Chonta, Turrialba, Península de Osa. En elevaciones entre 200 - 900 msnm.
Distribucion General: México a Panamá, Ecuador, Bolivia y Perú.
Liana.
Liana, puberulenta en las ramas jóvenes, con muchas lenticelas blanco - grisáceas en el tallo. Hojas oblongo - elípticas o elípticas de (2,5) 3,5 - 12 cm por (1,2) 2,5 - 5 cm, membranosas, acuminadas o agudas, rara vez redondeadas u submucronuladas, redondeadas, subcordadas o obtusas en la base, glabras o esparcidamente pilosas en el envés, inconspicuamente glandulares en la base del nervio central, peciolo 1 - 5 mm largo.
Inflorescencia tirseiforme, terminal, más pequeña que las hojas adyacentes, aglomerada, con muchas flores pequeñas, pedúnculo de 1,4 - 3 cm largo, pedicelo de aproximadamente 1 mm largo, ambos minutamente puberulento ferrugíneo, bracteolas inconspicuas, menos de 1 mm de largo, deltoides; lóbulos del cáliz ovados, agudos, de más o menos 1 mm de largo, puberulento ferrugíneo, con varias glándulas en su interior; corola subrotada, glabra o minutamente puberulenta, verde claro o verde crema, tubo menos de 1 mm largo, piloso en la garganta, lóbulos oblongo - ovados, 2 - 3 mm largo.Estambres exhertos, anteras de aproximadamente 2 mm de largo, nectarios más cortos que el ovario. Folículos glabros o minutamente puberulentos, con muchas lenticelas de (18) 26,4 - 45 cm largo, delgados. Semillas 1,2 - 1,6 cm largo.Syntype for Forsteronia myriantha Donn. Sm.
