Description:
Terrestrial or lithophytic ferns. Rhizome short, creeping to suberect, irregularly laterally branched, often stoloniferous. Fronds tufted, monomorphic or hemidimorphic, pinnate to 3-pinnatifid. Pinnules without a stalk or short-stalked, herbaceous to coriaceous. Veins free or anastomosing. Sporangia borne at or near vein appices either on branched basal pinnae (Anemia) or on unmodified pinnae (Mohria), without indusium.

Anemiaceae:
Anemiaceae is a family of ferns in the order Schizaeales. Two genera may be recognized, Anemia and Mohria, although Mohria is sometimes included within Anemia. All ferns in this family have chromosome numbers based on n=38.
