Distribucion en Costa Rica: Turrialba, Puriscal (Cerro La Cangreja), Cedral Perez Zeledón, fajas costeñas de Acosta (Fila Aguabuena), en elevaciones entre 700-1400 m.
Distribucion General: Panamá a Ecuador.
Hierba.
Hierbas, hojas e inflorescencias emergiendo de un bulbo basal. Hojas digitadamente de 3-4-folioladas, peciolos de 10--31 cm de largo, esparcidamente pubescentes a glabrados, foliolos anchamente obovados o suborbiculares, el ápice anchamente redondeado, conspicuamente emarginado o retuso.
Inflorescencia de 7-17 flores, lilas o rosadas, pétalos de 9-18 mm, sépalos apicalmente con un café apical. Cápsulas de 14--19 mm. Se reconoce por sus hojas digitadamente 3-folioladas, foliolos anchamente obovados a suborbiculares, con el ápice retuso o emarginado y los sépalos con un conspicuo callo café apicalmente.Holotype for Oxalis huilensis R. Especie muy escasa, pobremente representada en colecciones de herbario. Generalmente se asocia y se encuentra en áreas alteradas, con vegetación muy baja o pastizales.Ocasionalmente plantada.
