Saurauia montana is a tropical tree found in Honduras, Costa Rica, and Panama.[1] It is 3 to 10 meters tall. The obovate leaves are toothed and can reach 30 cm in length.

Árbol o arbusto.
Árbol o arbusto de 4 a 10 m de altura, ramitas denso-ferrugíneo-pubescentes. Hojas simples, alternas, de obovadas a oblanceoladas, de 12,4-31,3 por 3,5-12,8 cm, ápice de agudo a acuminado, borde doblemente aserrado.
Inflorescencia de 3 a 28 cm de largo. Flores blancas. Frutos tipo bayas, globosos, verdes, de 6 a 15 mm de diámetro, densamente pubescentes.
Cuando se le quita la corteza, el tronco expuesto se tiñe de un color rojizo en parches discontinuos.
DIAGNÁSTICO: Se reconoce por sus hojas con el borde doblemente aserrado, pecíolos y ramitas muy pubescentes. Podría ser confundida con Saurauia pittieri.
