Whole plant: To treat snakebite in Guyana; among the Surinam Wayana the sap is dripped onto a piece of cotton which is put into the cavity of an aching tooth to relieve pain. Sap from this plant cayses the skin to itch, is irritant (Guyana Patamona). Leaf: Used for back pain in NW Guyana.
Surinam Wayana: kam-hi-da. Guyana Patamona: chim-o-ruk-ku-yik.
