Whole plant: The French Guiana Wayapi use a decoction to reduce the excessive crying of infants. Root: Used for wounds/cuts and for swelling in NW Guyana. Leaf: Surinam Arawak use leaves to treat cracks in skin of feet sometimes caused by framboesia. Warm decoction used by Surinam Tirio to bathe wounds caused by palm spines.
