Note: For many non-migratory species, occurrences are roughly equivalent to populations.
Estimated Number of Occurrences: 6 - 20
Comments: Historically (pre-1930) this species was collected in the Duck River in Marshall, Maury, and Humphreys Cos., Tennessee (van der Schalie, 1973). Bogan and Parmalee (1983) list reports from the Duck River from Bedford Co. downstream to Humphreys Co. (these based on Goodrich, 1940), and from the Harpeth River in Davidson Co. (based on Goodrich, 1921). Herb Athearn (MFM collection) maintains a single lot of 100 specimens from the Wolf River (Obey drainage) collected in 1964, but identification has not been confirmed. Dillon (1989) lists occurrences from the Duck River, north of Farmington, Marshall Co., Tennessee.

Reasons: Although always a Duck River and Buffalo River endemic with some historical sites in the Harpeth drainage (and an uncofirmed record from the Obey drainage), it is now restricted to fewer than 10 localities in the Duck River as an endemic in Tennessee with minor decline recently. Threat information is largely lacking but some decline has occurred.
