Wood: The wood is burned, the ashes collected and applied onto the umbilical cord near the navel where it was cut, as an anti-infective, by the Guyana Patamona. Leaf: Leaves boiled and the water used as an herbal bath for pregnant mothers, by the Guyana Patamona. Macerated leaves are mixed with water and drunk by pregnant women on the day of delivery of the baby as a muscle relaxant, by the Guyana Patamona.
