Distribucion en Costa Rica: Se encuentra en ambas vertientes: Parque Nacional Braulio Carrillo y en la Península de Osa. Elevación: de 0 a 450 m.
Distribucion General: Centro América.
Arbusto o árbol.
Arbusto o árbol hasta de 16 m, a veces epífito. Estípulas de 4 a 10 por 3 mm, densamente cubiertas por tricomas cortos blanco-dorados o pardos.
Hojas lanceoladas o angosto-elípticas, de 4 a 14 por 1.5 a 3.5 cm. Síconos pareados, de 5 a 9 mm de diámetro. Pedúnculos de 3 a 7 mm, con 2 brácteas enteras de 2 mm. Ostíolo plano. Se reconoce por sus hojas angostas y largas, la pubescencia de las estípulas y sus síconos pedunculados.Isotype for Ficus donnell-smithii Standl.
