Distribucion en Costa Rica: Se encuentra en ambas vertientes: Limón, Puerto Jiménez y Guanacaste. Elevación: entre 0 y 1000 m.
Distribucion General: Desde México hasta Brasil y Perú.
Arbol de 5 a 28 m. Estípulas glabras o puberulentas, de 5 a 20(35) por 2 a 4 mm.
Hojas de elípticas a oblongas, de 3 a 27 por 1.5 a 9 cm. Sícono solitario de 9 a 15 mm de diámetro. Pedúnculo de 4 a 11 mm, con 3 brácteas de 1 mm. Ostíolo plano o elevado 1 mm.
