Bejuco herbáceo.
Bejuco con los tallos pilosos o variadamente pubescentes, raramente glabrados.
Hojas elípticas, oblongo-elípticas u obovadas, de 6,5 a 15 cm por 2,5 a 9 cm, caudado-acuminadas, auriculadas en la base, con glándulas en el haz a lo largo del nervio central, pilosas. Peciolo de 1,2 a 5 cm. Inflorescencia axilar con brácteas foliáceas. Lóbulos del cáliz lanceolados, de 0,6 a 1,2 cm. Corola infundibuliforme, amarilla. Base de los lóbulos y garganta roja, puberulenta o pilosa, con tubo de 2,4 a 3 cm. Garganta cónica, de 1,8 a 2,4 cm. Lóbulos obovados, de 1,6 a 2,5 cm de largo. Anteras de 4 a 5 mm de largo, con 5 nectarios, concrecentes, aproximadamente del mismo tamaño del ovario. Folículos monoliformes, de 13 a 18 cm de largo, pubescentes.
