Hierba.
Hierba, de 0,2 a 0,7 m de altura, procumbente.
Hojas basales de 3,5-8 por 0,8-1,5 cm, angostamente oblanceoladas u oblongo-oblanceoladas, las caulinares de 1,5-4 por 0,5-2,5 cm, de elípticas a oblanceoladas, subenteras o diminutamente aserradas. Flores con los pétalos amarillos, rojos o matizados con ambos, cerca de 6 mm de largo. Frutos de 1 a 1,5 cm de largo, clavados.Isotype for Hartmannia boliviana Rusby
