Xylopia aromatica is a species of plant in the Annonaceae family.
It is a tree native to Cerrado grassland vegetation, particularly in the states of Goiás and Minas Gerais, in eastern Brazil.

Distribucion en Costa Rica: Se encuentra principalmente en el Valle del General y en las sabanas de Buenos Aires y Boruca, a elevaciones entre 200 y 520 m.
